Simeron and I need to stay in contact so we are in tune in terms of ideas and what is happening. We do this in a few different ways, including texting, facebook and talking. These are some of our converstations.

Scene Planning
Before we start filming, we need to make sure every aspect of the film was carefully mapped out. This means props, lighting, costumes, locations and other important elements such as pacing and specific camera shots. This is so when it comes to filming we know exactly what we need to do, but also so our actors know exactly what to expect.
What we've got left to do...
We spent an hour going through what we have left to do in terms of this project. This means we have a clear idea of what we need to do, when we need to do it and therefore we can plan to carry these out successfully. It also ensures we wont miss anything out.

Mrs D
Well done Rhiannon. Your blogs are detailed. Your animatronic storyboard doesn't play - reload this early next week. The storyboard looks good - you need to work on the pace/ editing and the variety of camera shots. Are you using split screen as lots of your shots use this?

Euphoric Studios
We've decided to call ourselves 'Euphoric Studios' because it represents the excitment and intensity of our film. This is our comapny logo, we like the blending of the colours and yet how simplistic it is which reperensents the simple yet effectiveness of our film.
Our Questionnaire
This is a copy of the questionnaire we gave to 13 boys and 2 girls. We gave it to mostly males because they are predominantly our target audience gender but we decided it would be useful to ask a few girls too to be able to compare what the genders want for their films.
This is the feedback we received from the people who took our questionnaire. From this we were able to chose names for our characters, our film, different idea we had, what elements we included and many more things that really helped us in creating a final product.
Draft Storyboard
This is our draft storyboard with some ideas we had originally of shots we liked. Many of these weren't included in our final storyboard but it helped us compile our ideas together and pull our visions of the scenes into one so we could narrow down ideas and come up with a few really good shots.
Our Pitch and Feedback
http://prezi.com/c7x_mzj1ej-w/?utm_campaign=share&utm_medium=copy&rc=ex0share
This is our prezi we used for our pitch. This gave us the opportunity to put all our ideas together and get some feedback from our teachers and classmates so we could improve our final idea. This included our genre and audience and why we decided on these, a basic mood board we put together of some ideas, we wanted to get feedback on the concept before we produced a final one. We briefly referred to our audience feedback and explained how this influenced some of our decisions, including our character names. We wrote a storyline so our classmates could understand where we were coming from in terms of our story and from this we could get feedback on what they thought we should include in our first two minutes. We shared an opening which particularly inspired us and who's ideas we were keen to adapt to fit our own storyline. We then put some research we did on a slide and explained the elements we liked about each of the artifacts and the aspects we didn't like. By doing this we were able to get some valuable feedback and then apply it to our later ideas.
Our Feedback-
POSITIVE-
-People said they liked our plot and the way the story would develop
-People said the name of the film was good
-People liked the ideas from our mood board and thought the rope was particularly intriguing.
-People liked our character names and said they were very fitting with the genre and personalities of them.
NEGATIVE-
-We included examples of TV series as artifacts, but people questioned how we would copy these since they have a long time to develop characters and relationships whereas we have only two minutes.
-People questioned who we would get to play our characters since we were very specific with our descriptions of them, especially June.

Mood Board
This is a mood board we created full of pictires that relate to apects of our moving image. After finalising our idea for our Moving Image storyline we decided to put together another storyboard to illustrate some of the ideas we wish to develop when filming our film opening. A lot of these images represent key elements in our scenes.
Potential Ideas
Idea 1-
The first idea we had was a horror movie. We felt this was a genre which we could easily portray to our audiences. Similarly in our audiences feedback a lot of people said they enjoyed horror movies and the tense atmosphere created throughout. Our idea was centred around a young girl who had schizophrenia and kept seeing thing that weren't actually there and picturing herself in situations that she wasn't in fact in. We didn't continue with this idea because we felt that that this was a hugely sensitive topic and we would have to approach it with care. Additionally horror is a very popularly done genre and we wanted to do something a little different. Furthermore the actual filming of this would be very tricky and we would have to try and fit a lot into a small amount of time which may have confused our audience.
Idea 2-
We had an idea to do a romantic comedy. We both had a keen interest and have watched a lot of films within this genre. We wanted to base it on the concept of love at first sight. We liked the idea of having a woman walking down the street (we particularly liked London for this idea) and something happening causing her to meet/come into contact with a mysterious man who she had a special connection with. We felt we could make this fun and happy and really get our audience to smile. We decided against this idea for many reasons. Firstly the location being so far away, if we needed to re shoot anything it would be very difficult. Also in our research on the film industry we discovered that romcoms make up just 1% of Box Office takings. This makes it a hugely unpopular genre. Similarly it means we would only be approaching a niche audience because it's mostly women that watch these types of films, whereas other genres were a lot more popular.
Idea 3-
We looked at some potential clips and really liked some hospital dramas we saw and we really felt some created a very emotional atmosphere and engaged us right from the start. We thought about playing with the relationship between a father and his daughter. We thought he could be a single dad with a daughter who was very poorly and the story surrounding this, such as his relationships etc. We really liked this idea but knew it would be impossible to carry out successfully. We wouldn't be able to create the right location (the hospital) or have any of the right props to create mise en scene (such as the bed, the machines etc). It also doesn't have a clear genre (that we would be able to portray to our audience), because we found that the majority of hospital dramas were television shows and there were few films out there in this genre.

Potential Shots
These are just a few test shots we took of potential locations for our film. Making up the majority of our moving image will be close ups and extreme close ups so location isn't too crucial as instead we are keen to focus on establishing characters. We wanted Freddy Sharps bedroom to be very minimalist and plain which relates to his character, being mysterious, and having severe OCD. In addition to this any props in his bedroom will be carefully placed to show that everything he does is thought out and has a place and a reason. This is to give the Freddy character some depth because initially he seems very tidy and organised but we will reveal a more chaotic and muddled character as time goes on. The second and third picture are his room. The third, fourth and fifth picture are potentially going to be June Morgans bedroom. The room is quite homely and we felt it was a blank canvas so we could add key props to the set and they would be obviously noticed, especially important because of their significance (props such as her briefcase.) The stairs will be the location for our last shots where we bring the two characters together. Before this the audience will be confused at how they link so this will be when we bring them together. Again the location is homely and quit plain which means we can add key props if we need to.

Dolby
The analysis of the RMA is detailed and thoughfula nd you have reflected well on the elements. Consider now what is being communicated to the audience at all times and particularly if any enigma codes draw them in. Do you have the rest of the planning and an idea of what egenre or target audience you are looking at?
